 The Prince anthem Purple Rain could well be up for a re-vamp in lingerie advertising campaigns.
Two other strong themes have been labelled 'Newstalgia' and 'It's a Wrap'.
 Newstalgia tries to give a modern twist to yesteryear, with the shapes and styles being very retro in style, but using modern materials and colours. The retro look has also been around for the last few seasons with the burlesque inspired looks of Dita Von Teese at Wonderbra and Catherine Claverings designs at the retro inspired Kiss Me Deadly label.
 The final trend for 2011 is the 'It's a Wrap' look with Gok Wan and Trinny and Susannah advocating shapewear as the foundation of any and every outfit, it is no surprise that this important market place has inspired designers to start adding a bit of glamour to the functionality of shapewear with longline briefs with control panels and other forms of shapewear that are more appealing to the eye, once the dress comes off.
So if you want to be on top of your fashion for 2011 make sure your underwear drawer includes the retro look in a shade of purple with control panels built in. Three trends in one, thats how to be a trendsetter.
