Just Bras Blog
The B Cup ChallengePosted on Wednesday May 19 4:32:00 UTC 2010 Listed under: Rick - The Lingerie Buyers Blog It's amazing how many women buy bras off the peg without being properly fitted or having been 'measured' as opposed to fitted. It's equally amazing how many women falling into this category think of themselves as B Cups and sometimes even A Cups. Never venturing into a specialist lingerie shop, but walking round with bras that don't support in the way that should nor give the shape that they really desire. You would be surprised at how many men who visit lingerie shops to buy lingerie for their wives are looking for a size 36B or 38B and size 8 or 10 bottoms. Now as a rule of thumb if you are size 8 or 10, chances are you will have a back size between 28 and 34 and probably towards the lower end.
Many women think they have been a B Cup for years and as their size changes they increase the back size, maintaining the B Cup. The way bras are designed, cups are graded so that the volume of the cup changes depending on the back size. So if you are a 38B, the volume of the cup is the same as 36C, the same volume as a 34D, the same volume as a 32DD and a 30E. So if you were a size 32B when you were 16 and and are now wearing a 36B, then the cup size is the same volume as a 32AA, in other word your boobs have shrunk by two cupsizes. Or more likely you are wearing completely the wrong size bra. The vast majority of women who have not been properly fitted, find that they are smaller in the back and bigger in the cup than the size they have been wearing. They also find they can't believe the difference a properly fitted bra makes to the way they look.
So how can you tell if you are wearing the wrong size bra? Well there are a number of things to look out for.
If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you need to get yourself properly fitted. So why not have a day out to your local specialist lingerie shop, where you can be properly fitted, most don't charge for fitting and contrary to popular belief the bras they sell are not overly expensive.
Of course you could go to a department store and be measured, but measuring isn't fitting and does not take account of what styles work for you and your shape. It also doesn't take account of the fact that different bras, sometimes even from the same manufacturer will fit differently. |
