Swimwear - What to wear for 2010Posted on Friday Aug 14 0:00:00 UTC 2009 Listed under: Rick - The Lingerie Buyers Blog This seasons swimwear was not as exciting as it might have been, particularly the Cup Sized bikini's, tankini's and swimsuits. Designers seem to have gone for elegance and sophistication and not gone for excitement and vibrancy. So what will I be looking for when buying next years swimwear? Colour, bright colours, swimwear that makes a statement, something that speaks of holidays and fun, not recession and winter.
Bikini briefs for next season will be classic designs, skimpy tie side bikini briefs will definitely not feature heavily in our ranges. This seasons bikini shorts, including those with draw string ruched sides, so the depth of the shorts can be altered will also be a feature.
With bikini tops I'll be looking for something with a bit of structure, padded bikinis offering uplift upto a D Cup, halterneck and underwired bikini tops for the bigger cups to offer support and confidence for the bigger cups. Triangle bikini's, twisted bandeau bikini,s are definitely out for next season.
With swimsuits I'll be looking for something that has control panels where needed, yet at the same time is fun and attractive to wear, at the other end of the market I'll be looking for the statement piece, the costume to put in our shop window, probably sculpted and cut away.
With brands I'll be sticking with Agua Clara, Ballet, Caprice, Lepel, Panache, Pour Moi and possibly if something grabs me who knows we might add another label for 2010.
