Padded Bras Upto a G Cup, Why?Posted on Wednesday Aug 19 0:00:00 UTC 2009 Listed under: Rick - The Lingerie Buyers Blog When I started out as a lingerie buyer, I had quite fixed ideas about what to buy when looking at padded and non padded bras. Upto a D or DD I would buy a mix of underwired sheer cup bras and padded bras, including push up bras. When it came to E Cup and above I would buy sheer underwired bras with a selection of T Shirt bras upto a G Cup. I then started getting requests for padded bras for girls who were F Cups and G Cups, mainly young girls who were perhaps wearing the wrong size and had always worn padded bras. The fitting consultants used to explain that the underwired sheer bras were better engineered to give support and shape, but there was definitely a demand for padded bras. At first they were quite hard to come by, with manufacturings steering clear of padding for the larger cups. Like me they were probably used to hearing the larger cup ladies say, "Why would I want padding, I,ve got plenty of my own".
Fortunately they realised there was a demand for padded bras in larger cups and the available choice is increasing all the time. No longer is it just T Shirts bras that are available, but pretty padded bras, often offered as part of a range, offering an alternative to a sheer bra. Boudoir ranges such as masquerade are almost exclusively padded and available upto a G Cup. Choice has definitely improved and not at the expense of fit, comfort and support.
